| Day of Science | conference | November | Department of Biology and Chemistry, Fodor Istán Research Centre | The Hungarian Academy of Sciences has commemorated the Day of Hungarian Science since 1997, and it has been officially celebrated since 2003, on November 3. On this day in 1825, István Széchenyi offered one year’s income from his estates to establish the Hungarian Learned Society, laying the foundation of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
