Practical Training

Professional Practical Training of Higher Education Students

Practical training is a compulsory component of the educational process for higher education students and is provided through comprehensive practice programmes and relevant syllabi. The organisation of practical training is regulated by the Regulations on the Practical Training of Higher Education Students of Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University of Higher Education and is carried out at appropriately equipped practice bases. Professional practice constitutes an integral part of the educational process, during which theoretical knowledge and practical skills are directly integrated and applied in the practical activities of prospective teachers under conditions corresponding to their future professional work.

The aim of practical training is to enable students to master modern methods, organisational forms and tools used in their future profession. It also aims to develop key competences and professional skills on the basis of the knowledge, practical abilities and other competences acquired at the institution, enabling students to demonstrate their professional competence through independent decision-making while performing specific tasks under real field, laboratory or workplace conditions. Particular emphasis is placed on fostering the need for continuous updating of knowledge, engagement in scientific research, and the practical application of acquired knowledge.

The aim of teacher training in Biology, Chemistry, and Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) is to develop professional and pedagogical competence. This competence represents an integrated personal and professional capacity of a specialist, encompassing a high level of theoretical and methodological, psychological and pedagogical, subject-specific methodological, and practical preparation, and serving as a key criterion for becoming a professional teacher. This process is achieved through the acquisition of the practical knowledge and skills required to address professional tasks, as well as through the development of the ability to carry out effective pedagogical activities.

Practical training in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture is a key component of the study programme, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills in plant cultivation, landscape design, park establishment and maintenance, greenhouse management, computer-aided design, and the engineering aspects of green space planning and development. The training aims to prepare graduates to perform professional duties as horticulturists, green space managers, landscape designers, or specialists responsible for the management and maintenance of green areas.

The scientific and practical training and teaching assistant (pedagogical) training within the Master’s (MSc) programme in Biology and Biochemistry are designed to prepare highly qualified specialists who are competitive in both the national and international labour markets and capable of solving complex specialised tasks and practical problems in the fields of biology and biochemistry, as well as in the educational process. Such tasks and problems are characterised by complex and uncertain conditions, and their solution requires the application of the laws, theories, and methods of the natural sciences.
