The dormitory building was constructed with the support of the Government of Hungary and opened in 2016 as part of an initiative to develop Transcarpathian Hungarian vocational and technical education. The facility, which originally offered 50 places, was built following the Hungarian Permanent Conference (MÁÉRT) declaring 2015 as the “Year of Hungarian Vocational Training Abroad” and as part of the University’s strategic development program. Beyond its primary function, the building serves as an excellent base for Biology and Geography students from the University to complete their field practices. It also hosts natural history and ecology camps for students from Transcarpathian Hungarian secondary schools.
