On 7 August 2026, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine launched a new interactive dashboard entitled “Professional Scientific Publications of Ukraine” (Фахові видання України), available at: https://data.nauka.gov.ua/dashboard-journals/
The new service brings together key information on Ukraine’s professional scientific journals in a single, searchable and user-friendly database.
The development of this digital platform is part of a broader effort to enhance the transparency and quality of scientific publishing in Ukraine. The requirements updated in 2026 place greater emphasis on academic integrity, transparency in editorial and publishing procedures, publication ethics, the quality of peer review, and compliance with contemporary international standards of scholarly communication.
The database currently contains information on more than 1,300 Ukrainian scientific journals included in Category B of Ukraine’s official classification of professional scientific publications. Users can search not only for individual journals but also filter publications by field of knowledge, speciality, founder, ISSN, publication frequency and several other criteria. The database also provides information on access models, open access, inclusion in the international DOAJ directory, and certain publication conditions. In addition, it contains data on more than 19,000 members of editorial boards.
Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University is particularly pleased that all four scientific journals associated with the University are included in the updated Category B of Ukraine’s professional scientific publications:

- Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis, Philologica;
- Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis: Geographica et Recreatio;
- Наукові записки. Серія: Педагогічні науки / Academic Notes. Series: Pedagogical Sciences.
The journals’ Category B status confirms that they meet the professional and formal requirements established for scientific publications in Ukraine. Under the evaluation system updated in 2026, particular attention is paid to the professional standards of editorial work, academic integrity, the quality of peer review, transparency of editorial procedures, and compliance with contemporary standards of scientific publishing.
At the same time, the new national database not only increases the visibility of scientific journals but also provides a valuable practical tool for lecturers, researchers and students.
Choosing the right journal is an important step when preparing a scientific manuscript for publication. The new database allows researchers to compare the academic profiles of journals, verify their official classification, review their access and publication conditions, and examine the composition of their editorial boards. This can help authors identify the journal that best matches the subject of their research and their publication objectives.
Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University therefore encourages its lecturers, researchers and students to use the new database when planning their scientific publications.
The development of the national system will continue. According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the next stage will include a more comprehensive integration of information on Category A scientific journals, i.e. journals indexed in the Scopus and/or Web of Science databases. The information available through the database will be continuously updated on the basis of data from URIS, Ukraine’s National Electronic Scientific and Information System.
The new service will contribute to greater transparency in Ukraine’s academic environment, support more informed publication strategies, and strengthen high-quality scholarly communication.
