Student and Staff Mobility of the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, Primary Education, Preschool Education and Educational Institution Management in the Academic Years 2015–2025
Our institution, including the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology (renamed in 2023 as the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, Primary Education, Preschool Education and Educational Institution Management), was established with the professional support and cooperation of higher education institutions in Hungary. Over the years, the initially strong partnerships have been further developed and expanded to include other institutions in Ukraine, Hungary, and the Carpathian Basin.
At present, the Department maintains active cooperation with numerous higher education institutions. Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme and the Makovecz Programme, several successful staff and student mobility projects have been implemented, enabling both academic staff and students to gain professional experience, become acquainted with the daily life of the European Higher Education Area, and gain insight into student life abroad. Initially, the Comenius Campus of Eszterházy Károly University (currently the University of Tokaj-Hegyalja, Sárospatak) and the Faculty of Primary and Pre-School Education of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE TÓK) served as host institutions. Between 2015 and 2019, fourteen students participated in partial studies at the Faculty of Primary and Pre-School Education of Eötvös Loránd University and at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.
Within the framework of the Makovecz Programme, several larger group mobility projects were also organized. As part of their pedagogical and teaching practice, students and academic staff visited partner institutions’ practice kindergartens and schools in Hungary. During the 2017–2018 academic year, twenty-one students enrolled in Preschool Education and Primary Education programmes participated in mobility activities hosted by the Faculty of Child and Special Needs Education of the University of Debrecen. In the 2018–2019 academic year, twenty-eight students received mobility scholarships and visited the Comenius Campus of Eszterházy Károly University in Sárospatak, where they also had the opportunity to observe the institution’s practice school. As part of the programme, the students also visited Košice. Subsequently, in the first semester of the 2021–2022 academic year, twenty-two students and five academic staff members participated in a study visit organized by the Institute of Education of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Pécs, where they gained insight into the characteristics of the Bachelor’s Programme in Pedagogy. In autumn 2023, twenty students took part in a partial study programme at ELTE TÓK and also attended the Open Day of the András Pető Faculty of Semmelweis University. In May 2024, Eszterházy Károly Catholic University (Eger) hosted twenty-eight students enrolled in Primary Education, Preschool Education, and Educational Sciences programmes. In May 2025, Eötvös József College (Baja) served as the partner institution.
On each occasion, students also participated in a rich cultural programme. During their study visits they explored the Hortobágy National Park, the Pécs Zoo and Aquarium-Terrarium, the Sándor Márai Memorial Exhibition and St. Elisabeth Cathedral in Košice, the Rákóczi memorial sites, the castles of Füzér and Siklós, the Mohács National Memorial Site, the House of Music Hungary, the Museum of the Hungarian Language, the Károly Viski Museum, and the Paprika Museum in Baja.
