Zupkó József Centre for Health Care and Sport
History of the Establishment of the Zupkó József Centre for Health Care and Sport
The building, originally constructed in the 1980s, was purchased by the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education in 2016. It was later converted into a modern sports complex. Prior to the renovation, the building—situated on a 0.7736-hectare plot—had a total floor area of 637 m². Following the reconstruction, the two-story facility now includes two gymnasiums, a dance hall, a fitness room, and a classroom designed for the training of junior healthcare professionals.
The Zupkó József Health and Sports Centre, established with the support of the Government of Hungary and the State Secretariat for National Policy, was officially opened on June 21, 2019.
