The integration of sustainable development principles and ESG approaches into the training of specialists is one of the key areas of modernisation in contemporary economic education and an important precondition for implementing Ukraine’s European integration course. Continuous professional development of academic and teaching staff is becoming particularly significant for updating the content of educational programmes and introducing best European practices into the educational process.
From 1 to 30 June 2026, two professors from the Department of Accounting and Auditing – Prof. Nina Poyda-Nosyk, and Prof. Viktoriia Makarovych – successfully completed academic and teaching professional development training on “Green Finance as a Component of Ensuring Sustainable Development in the Context of Ukraine’s European Integration”, organised by the Institute of Accounting and Finance of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, the National Scientific Centre “Institute of Agrarian Economics”, and the NGO “Federation of Auditors, Accountants and Financiers of the Agro-Industrial Complex of Ukraine”.
The programme brought together topical issues concerning the development of green finance, the implementation of the European Green Deal, ESG risk management, the use of modern financial instruments for sustainable development, and prospects for attracting green financing in the context of Ukraine’s European integration.
Participation in the professional development programme created additional opportunities for introducing modern European approaches to teaching accounting and finance disciplines, developing academic research, and shaping in students the competences required to work under the transition to a sustainable development model.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the organizers of the programme – the Institute of Accounting and Finance of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, the National Scientific Centre “Institute of Agrarian Economics”, and the NGO “Federation of Auditors, Accountants and Financiers of the Agro-Industrial Complex of Ukraine” – for the high scientific and methodological standard of the event’s preparation, its topical subject matter, informative lectures, and the opportunity for professional growth in the field of sustainable development and green finance.
