On 22 October 2026, lecturers from the Department of Accounting and Finance at Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University participated in the All-Ukrainian Educational Forum “AUDIT AND EDUCATION 2026”. Held in a hybrid format, the forum brought together representatives of higher education institutions, researchers, practising auditors, professional organisations and regulatory bodies responsible for overseeing audit activities.
The event was organised by the non-governmental organisation “Professional Organisation of Auditors, Accountants and Teachers of Accounting and Auditing Disciplines”, with the support of the Audit Chamber of Ukraine and the National Business Education Platform.
The forum aimed to discuss strategic priorities for the development of the auditing profession, improvements to the education and training of future auditors, and ways of strengthening cooperation between higher education and professional practice.
During four thematic panel discussions, participants examined current requirements for the professional competencies of auditors, approaches to preparing candidates for professional qualification examinations, the importance of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA), as well as contemporary approaches to developing professional judgement.
Particular attention was devoted to practice-oriented education in higher education institutions, the integration of professional case studies into teaching and learning, the development of analytical thinking and risk assessment skills, and the application of professional standards. Another important area of discussion concerned the enhancement of teaching and learning resources and the incorporation of professional qualification requirements into the design and development of course content.
Participation in the forum provided lecturers from the Department of Accounting and Finance with an opportunity to explore current developments in the auditing profession, contemporary approaches to professional education and training, and practical insights shared by members of the professional community.
The knowledge gained and recommendations discussed at the forum will contribute to updating the content of accounting- and auditing-related courses, enhancing teaching and learning resources, and integrating practice-oriented assignments into the education and training of students.
