On 11 June 2026, the prestigious international scientific conference, the 14th International Conference on Management (ICoM–2026), commenced at Budapest Metropolitan University in Budapest, Hungary. The two-day event is recognized as one of the leading international forums for researchers, academics, and professionals in the fields of management, economics, and social sciences. This year, the conference brought together participants from 22 countries around the world.
It is a great honour for the Department of Accounting and Auditing of Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University that its faculty members actively participated in the conference and represented Ukraine as presenters at this distinguished academic event. Participation in the conference not only enhances the international visibility of our institution but also provides valuable opportunities for our department to engage in contemporary global scientific dialogue.
Following the official opening ceremony, participants attended plenary sessions focusing on current issues in management science, competitiveness, sustainability, digital transformation, and the application of artificial intelligence. The keynote presentations addressed topics such as the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises, the challenges of using artificial intelligence to support sustainable development, and the economic and managerial aspects of climate change adaptation.
The afternoon programme featured parallel sessions covering a wide range of management-related topics, including financial digitalisation, sustainable corporate governance, regional development, digital transformation, and business applications of artificial intelligence. All conference sessions were conducted in English, fostering international academic exchange and promoting broad professional cooperation. In two of the 14 sections, Prof. Dr. Robert Bacho, Head of Department, and Dr. Gabriella Loszkorikh, Deputy Head of Department, also served as co-chairs.
Faculty members of the Department of Accounting and Auditing presented their research findings and professional expertise in four different scientific sessions. Their presentations addressed such timely topics as the challenges of regional economic development, the economic impacts of wartime conditions, issues related to financial sustainability, and the effects of changes in Ukraine’s tax system on the business sector. The research placed particular emphasis on the socio-economic characteristics of the Transcarpathian region, as well as on the factors influencing its competitiveness and economic resilience.
Active participation in international scientific conferences is of great importance for higher education institutions and research communities. Such professional forums provide opportunities to present the latest research findings, exchange scientific experiences, and establish new international partnerships. Dialogue with researchers from different countries contributes to strengthening interdisciplinary approaches, initiating joint research projects, and expanding opportunities for participation in international grant programmes.
The Department of Accounting and Auditing at Rakoczi University places special emphasis on developing international academic partnerships, supporting the research activities of its faculty members, and promoting scientific achievements. Through research in the fields of accounting, finance, and economics, the department aims to contribute to professional innovation, knowledge sharing, and the strengthening of international academic cooperation.
The following days of the conference offered additional opportunities for professional presentations, scientific discussions, and networking. We are confident that the experience gained and the partnerships established during ICoM–2026 will contribute to the long-term scientific development of our department and further expand its international network of cooperation.
