Digital Literacy and Cybersecurity in the Professional Training of Accounting and Finance Specialists

Professional activity in the fields of accounting and finance is now closely associated with the use of digital technologies and electronic services that facilitate automated data processing and effective remote communication. Alongside new opportunities, however, the digital environment also creates new risks related to information protection, personal data security, and financial safety.

In March 2026, students enrolled in the educational programmes “Accounting and Taxation” and “Financial Protection” successfully completed the “Cyber Nanny” educational course on the Diia.Education platform as part of the course “Information Systems and Technologies for Economists”.

During the training, students became acquainted with the principles of safe behaviour in the digital environment, methods for identifying cyber threats, approaches to protecting user accounts, and strategies for counteracting phishing, fraud, and manipulative information influences. In addition, they acquired practical skills in the use of digital security tools and explored contemporary approaches to fostering a culture of responsible use of digital resources.

Completion of the course became an important component in the development of the professional competencies of future specialists in the economic sphere. The knowledge and practical skills acquired through the training will contribute to enhancing students’ digital literacy, information security awareness, and readiness to operate effectively in the context of the digital transformation of the economy and the growing scale of cyber risks.

We congratulate the students on successfully completing the course and wish them continued professional growth and success in mastering modern digital technologies.
