István Buczkó Mountain Research Station and Field Site, Hárs

The research station located in the village of Lypovets (Hárs), Perechyn District, serves as the venue for field practicums and field sample collections organized in the mountainous region surrounding Mount Polonyna Runa. The site is situated in the immediate vicinity of Mount Polonyna Runa (1,479 m a.s.l.), where Prof. Dr. István Fodor, the namesake of our research institute, previously conducted studies investigating the altitudinal shifts of the timberline. Due to its location, Mount Polonyna Runa provides an ideal environment for observing the characteristic mountain flora and fauna of the region.
