Round Table “Sustainable Development: at the Intersection of Sciences” for Members of Student Research Groups in the Specialty “Accounting and Taxation”

Sustainable development is one of the key areas of contemporary scientific discourse, bringing together representatives of various fields of knowledge and requiring interdisciplinary reflection. In this context, a round table entitled “Sustainable Development: at the Intersection of Sciences” was held for members of the student research groups in the specialty “Accounting and Taxation” at the master’s and bachelor’s levels of higher education. The event was conducted by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Maryna Kryvtsova, Head of the Department of Clinical Laboratory and Morphofunctional Diagnostics, Deputy Director of the Institute of Dentistry and Laboratory Medicine of the Uzhhorod National University.

Our guests also took part in the round table: Nadiia Bobryk and Oleksandra Kolesnyk, assistant lecturers at the Department of Clinical Laboratory and Morphofunctional Diagnostics of the Institute of Dentistry and Laboratory Medicine of the Uzhhorod National University. The round table was organized by the heads of the master’s and bachelor’s student research groups of the Department of Accounting and Auditing of Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University: Veronika Hanusych, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor; Gabriella Loskorikh, Deputy Head of the Department, PhD in specialty 071 “Accounting and Taxation”, Associate Professor; and Edina Shebeshten, PhD, Associate Professor.

The participants had the opportunity to consider sustainable development as a complex phenomenon shaped at the intersection of natural, social and economic sciences. During the discussion, it was emphasized that ecological processes, the rational use of resources, social responsibility and economic development do not exist separately, but mutually influence one another.

The meeting addressed topical issues related to the impact of human activity on the environment, the importance of the rational use of natural resources, and the role of education and science in shaping a responsible attitude towards the future. Special attention was paid to the fact that specialists in accounting and taxation play an important role in ensuring sustainable development, since accounting and analytical information forms the basis for making well-grounded management decisions, assessing the environmental impact of enterprises, and preparing transparent reporting.

The round table became an important platform for scientific dialogue, broadening students’ outlook and deepening their understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of sustainable development. Such events contribute to the development of students’ research culture, critical thinking, and awareness of the importance of professional knowledge in addressing the global challenges of the modern world.
