Number Theory Lectures at Rákóczi University within the Makovecz Programme

In November 2026, Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University is hosting Júlia Kulin, a Senior Lecturer at the Bolyai Institute of the University of Szeged, within the framework of the Makovecz Programme. She has already begun delivering lectures to bachelor’s degree students enrolled in the Mathematics and Informatics programmes, as well as master’s degree students in Mathematics.

The lectures focus on interesting and important topics in number theory, including “Number Theory Problems in Secondary School Mathematics,” Fermat’s Little Theorem, Korselt’s Theorem, and Mersenne Primes. Particular attention is given to the mathematical foundations of these topics, their practical applications, and their relevance to mathematics education.

The lectures aim to deepen students’ mathematical knowledge, develop their logical thinking, analytical skills, and independent problem-solving abilities, and introduce them to theoretical and methodological aspects of teaching number theory.

Academic mobility within the Makovecz Programme provides valuable opportunities for exchanging teaching experience, supporting students’ professional development, and strengthening educational and scientific cooperation between the University of Szeged and Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University.
