We again took part in the International Conference of the J. Selye University in Komarno

The II. Ferenc Rákóczi Transcarpathian Hungarian University was again represented by two lecturers at the 4th International Scientific Conference “Hungarian Martyrs of the Confessing Church”, organized by the Institute for Research on the History of the 20th Century Church at the Department of Historical Sciences of the Reformed Theological Faculty of the János Selye University. The scientific meeting took place on October 1, 2025 at the Conference Center of the J. Selye University in Komarno, Slovakia (Hradna 2, 945 01 Komarno).

The Department of History and Social Sciences was represented by Associate Professor Ibolya Szamborovsky-Nagy (PhD, Candidate of Historian scienceы), with a report on the topic “Fruits of the Internal Mission in Transcarpathia: Circle of Friends in the 1930s and 1940s“, and Marianna Székely, Assistant Professor of the Department of Geography and Tourism, presented she’s reports on the topic “Reform Communities Deprived of Churches in Transcarpathia in the Soviet Era.”

The organizers plan to publish the lectures in separate volumes in two languages (Hungarian and English) this year, as in previous years.

The conference was supported by the Fund for the Culture of National Minorities of the Slovak Republic (Fondu na podporu kultúry národnostných menšín) and the Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Center in Bratislava.
