Sustainable Tourism and Tourism Trends – Guest Lecture within the Makovecz Programme

On 1 October 2026, another open lecture was held at the Department of Geography and Tourism of Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University within the framework of the Makovecz Programme.

The guest speaker was Dr habil. Bulcsú Remenyik, Associate Professor and Head of Department at Tokaj-Hegyalja University, who delivered a lecture entitled “Sustainable Tourism and Tourism Trends”.

During the lecture, participants had the opportunity to learn about current trends in tourism and the increasingly important role of sustainability within the tourism sector. The speaker discussed emerging trends shaping the development of tourism, changing travel habits and tourist behaviour, as well as the ways in which environmental, social and economic considerations are interconnected in the implementation of sustainable tourism.

The professional programme provided a valuable opportunity for students and other interested participants to broaden their knowledge, gain up-to-date insights, and become more familiar with the processes shaping the future of tourism.
