On September 5, 2026, during his visit to Transcarpathia, Zoltán Tarr, Minister for Social Relations and Culture, held consultations with leaders of the legitimate church and civil organizations of the Transcarpathian Hungarian community to gain insight into the key issues affecting the community. The meeting took place at the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University.
The discussion covered the situation of Transcarpathian Hungarians, the challenges facing civil organizations and institutions, and efforts dedicated to the community’s preservation. Participants emphasized continuity and predictability, highlighting that ongoing dialogue and cooperation form the foundation for securing the future of the Transcarpathian Hungarian community.
The Minister stressed that regarding cross-border affairs, priorities are to be formulated by those living in the region.
