Country House in Velyki Berehy
- Address: 25 Rakoczi St., Velyki Berehy.
- Owner: Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University (UR).
- Total Area: 78.1 m2.
- Number of Rooms: 5.
The property, featuring a rural house built in 1898 and an adjacent plot, was donated to the institution by its owner in 2004. Currently functioning as an ethnographic country house, the building is situated in the center of the village near the Reformed church. Its traditional architectural elements are so significant that in 1997, researchers from the Miklós Ybl Technical Institute recommended the estate be recognized as a protected architectural monument.
In addition to serving as a museum where visitors can learn about the traditional peasant lifestyle, the reconstructed building provides a venue for traditional craft and folklore activities for students specializing in primary and pre-school education. The barn located in the courtyard also serves as an excellent space for outdoor events and dance classes. The reconstruction was carried out in stages between 2009 and 2012 with the support of the “Szülőföld” (Native Land) Fund and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary.
