On April 17, 2026, as part of a working meeting of the Ukrainian Regional Branch of EASE, a professional discussion took place on the pressing challenges and common issues arising in the preparation of applications for the inclusion of academic journals in the List of Professional Publications of Ukraine (Category “B”). Professors Nina Poyda-Nosyk and Viktoriia Makarovych represented the University. They contributed to the discussion of practical aspects of materials preparation, compliance with requirements, and the improvement of academic publication quality.
The discussion highlighted the most common difficulties faced by academic journal editorial boards, particularly regarding document formatting, adherence to quality criteria, publication ethics standards, ensuring transparency of editorial processes, and peculiarities of diamond access. Special attention was given to ways of improving application preparation and enhancing the effectiveness of interaction with the relevant authorities.
The meeting served as an important platform for sharing experiences and developing practical recommendations to improve the quality of academic publications and their successful integration into the national academic landscape.
