Career Day and Alumni Expo at the University of Rakoczi
Career Day and Alumni Expo were held at the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University on 8 April.
The event aims to facilitate job searching and enhance the culture of employability through presentations that offer practical insights from a labor market perspective.
The attendees were welcomed by Zsuzsanna Buda, Head of the Career Tracking Department.
“Today draws attention to the fact that obtaining the first degree is the most difficult stage in a person’s life; however, once that is achieved, all subsequent learning follows naturally. This event is designed to give you a moment to pause before graduation—to reflect on whether you are in the right place, studying the right profession, and moving in a direction that suits you. If not, you still have the opportunity to change. My message to you is to choose a profession that you will perform with joy,”
highlighted Ildikó Orosz, President of our university.

The formal opening was followed by a series of presentations. Györgyi Oniszkó-Szántó delivered a lecture entitled “Success is a straight path upward—or is it?!”. She was followed by Viktória Orbán, who spoke about career planning. Subsequently, Beáta Dobsa gave a career path presentation. Finally, the audience attended Eduárd Tar’s presentation, “Career dreams vs. reality”.
During the presentations, former students of the University of Rakoczi introduced their successful products and services. Attendees had the opportunity to taste delicious desserts offered by Ildikó Puskás, artisanal jams brought by Zsuzsanna Bábel, and flavorful honey varieties from Zoltán Szűcs. The exhibition featured the soft yarn creations of Andrea Csatlós Molnár, handcrafted candles by Gabriella Varga Roszoha, and bead jewelry by Irénke Lévai Derceni. The showcase also included embroidered apparel by Katalin Szedlák and György Barna, macramé decorations by Cintia Fodor, hand-embroidered gift items by Éva Szidor, crocheted toys by Adrienn Hajdu Varga, as well as beauty products from entrepreneur Natália Cihancsuk. The culinary experience continued with smoked delicacies from Andrea Kozák, wines by István Varga, and sweets by Zsófia László, a pastry chef at the Ede Egán Vocational Training Center. Furthermore, the selection included bead jewelry by Diána Biró, floral and decorative arrangements by Ildikó Knoblok, and paintings by Adetta Uszta.
