Dialogue at the Department of Accounting and Auditing for the Sake of the Future: Students Took an Active Part in Discussing Educational Programmes
On March 30, 2026, the academic staff of the Department of Accounting and Audit arranged a meeting with students and representatives of student self-governance. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the projects of two bachelor’s degree programmes – “Accounting and Taxation” and “Financial Protection” – alongside the “International Accounting and Taxation” master’s degree programme.
The defining feature of the meeting was the remarkable engagement of the student community. Participants demonstrated not merely an interest, but a profound involvement in shaping their own educational trajectory. That clearly demonstrated that students consider the content, quality, and practical relevance of their education to be highly important.
Particular attention was devoted to the digitalisation of the learning process. The students emphasized that modern digital solutions, automated accounting systems, and various cloud-based services should play an even greater role in the delivery of professionally oriented educational components. In their view, the broader application of these tools would help align the programmes more closely with current labour market expectations.
The meeting evolved into a lively and constructive exchange of views. In the course of the discussion, students put forward ideas regarding the content and expansion of educational components, offered proposals concerning teaching methodologies, and raised questions pertaining to the assessment of learning outcomes.
The importance of such meetings can hardly be overstated. When students are not only participants in the dialogue but also its initiators, and when they formulate meaningful and forward-looking proposals, this reflects a high level of professional awareness. Simultaneously, it also helps ensure that the university’s programmes largely meet contemporary professional and social expectations.
