Operation of the Special Psychologic Service

As part of the University’s organizational system, the Psychological Service serves to preserve, develop, and restore the mental health of students, lecturers, and staff. The goal of our work is to ensure that every member of the higher education community receives support during daily difficulties, emotional burdens resulting from the war situation, and challenges in academic and social adaptation. In doing so, our service not only strengthens the personal well-being of students but also contributes to the concept of a health-conscious higher education institution, which is regulated and supported by ministerial decree.

Our Main Goals:

  • the preservation, development, and strengthening of mental health,
  • shaping psychological culture and worldviews,
  • supporting students’ institutional adaptation,
  • creating the conditions for harmonious development, self-awareness, and self-actualization,
  • developing resilience, emotional intelligence, stress tolerance, and self-regulation,
  • ensuring multilingual access for all students and lecturers.

Our Main Tasks:

  • providing psychological counseling and individual consultations,
  • conducting psychodiagnostic examinations and regular monitoring,
  • organizing prevention and intervention programs, trainings, and roundtable discussions,
  • conducting psychocorrectional and developmental programs,
  • holding psychology classes and interactive sessions,
  • organizing lectures and community events that strengthen psychological culture (e.g., Mental Health Day, Bullying Prevention Week),
  • preventing bullying and cyberbullying, creating a safe institutional environment,
  • providing psychosocial support for students and lecturers.

The Service’s comprehensive programs cover all areas of mental health: adaptation and resilience-building trainings for freshmen, communication and self-confidence strengthening sessions, art therapy occasions, as well as film clubs and thematic conferences. We pay special attention to aggression management, raising awareness of social stereotypes, conflict management, and processing crisis situations.

Our work also includes professional support for educators, dormitory staff, parents, and student governments. Our services are available to everyone in both Hungarian and Ukrainian languages, thereby strengthening the University’s multilingual and inclusive community.
