Professor Nina Poyda-Nosyk Takes Part in International Academic Events at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova

From 22 to 26 September 2026, Nina Poyda-Nosyk, Doctor of Economic Sciences and Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance, visited Chișinău for academic engagements. There she took part in international academic events at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM). She represented Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University and also attended as Vice President of the international academic association FATER Academy of India (FAI). The events were part of the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the Academy’s founding.

The programme opened on 23 September with the workshop “From Research Idea to High-Impact Publication: A Practical Workshop on Academic Publishing”. It was organised by ASEM’s Department of Investments and Banking Activity together with FATER Academy of India. The event was held in a hybrid format, with researchers and lecturers from Moldova and 18 other countries taking part. Professor Poyda-Nosyk moderated the workshop. She also gave a presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence in Academic Publishing” on academic integrity at a time when AI tools are spreading rapidly. In it she drew on her own experience: serving on the editorial boards of academic journals, attending training courses and making an academic visit to Oxford. She also explained how leading academic publishers see the current challenges in scholarly publishing. The workshop was part of the international professional development programme “Moldova-India-Ukraine” on the topic “AI-Driven Transformation of Finance, Business Economics and Global Governance for Sustainable Development”.

Participants were welcomed by Victoria Cociug, ASEM Vice-Rector for Research and Partnerships, and by Professor Pankaj Srivastava, General Secretary of FAI. The other speakers were:

  • Professor Premjit Singh, President of FAI and former Vice-Chancellor of Central Agricultural University (Imphal, India);
  • Professor Devika Agrawal, FAI Advisor (Poornima University, Jaipur, India);
  • Professor C. C. Tan, FAI Foreign Secretary (National Institute of Development Administration, Thailand).

The discussion covered research planning and manuscript preparation, choosing a journal, publication strategies, peer review and responding to reviewers, and research ethics. Participants also discussed how to make scholarly publications more visible and increase their impact. The workshop closed with a discussion and a set of recommendations.

The International Scientific Conference “Competitiveness and Innovation in the Knowledge Economy” took place from 24 to 26 September. This long-running conference was dedicated this year to ASEM’s 35th anniversary. The 32nd FAI International Conference, “Emerging Frontiers in AI, Intelligent Systems and Digital Transformation for a Sustainable Green Economy” (AISDTSGE-2026), was held alongside it. At the opening ceremony on 24 September, Professor Poyda-Nosyk spoke about FAI programmes and opportunities for international cooperation. At the plenary session she presented the paper “AI and Digital Transformation for Financial Security in Ukraine’s Green Economy: Insights from Transcarpathia”. On the same day she chaired the first section of the online session, where participants from India and other countries presented their work. Speakers at the conference came from Moldova, India, Thailand, Romania, Poland, Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Besides Rákóczi University, Ukraine was represented by the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Khmelnytskyi National University and the Ukrainian State Flight Academy of the National Aviation University.

On 25 September 2026, the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova marked the 35th anniversary of its founding. Before the celebrations began, participants laid flowers at the bas-relief of Professor Paul Bran, the Academy’s founder and first rector. Professor Poyda-Nosyk joined ASEM’s leadership, members of the academic community and international delegations at the ceremony.

Taking part in these events strengthened Rakoczi University’s academic ties with the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and FATER Academy of India. It also opens up new opportunities for joint research and publications.
