Within the framework of the Accounting and Taxation educational programme, students of the Department of Accounting and Finance completed the Practicum in Financial Accounting Using IT, designed to deepen their professional knowledge and develop practical skills in the application of contemporary digital tools in accounting.
The practical training was conducted using the Accounting SaaS cloud-based software, designed to automate accounting processes. Its cloud-based format provides access to the software’s functionality through a web environment and enables accounting data to be managed in line with contemporary approaches to the digitalisation of business processes.
During the practicum, students worked on case studies based on realistic business scenarios, which simulated enterprise operations and the sequence of financial accounting procedures. Working with Accounting SaaS enabled them to reproduce the key stages of the accounting process, from processing source information and recording business transactions to systematising data and generating summary accounting information. This format facilitated the consolidation of theoretical knowledge of financial accounting and enhanced students’ understanding of how accounting principles are implemented within automated information systems.
Completing practical tasks in the cloud-based environment contributed to the development of the digital competences required by future accounting and taxation professionals. Students enhanced their skills in working with economic and accounting information, gained an understanding of the logic underlying automated accounting processes, and acquired practical experience in using software designed to support professional accounting tasks.
The Practicum in Financial Accounting Using IT forms an integral part of the practice-oriented training provided within the Accounting and Taxation educational programme. The integration of contemporary cloud-based solutions into the educational process strengthens the applied dimension of learning and supports the development of professional competences relevant to accounting practice in the context of the ongoing digital transformation of the economy.
