On July 21, 2026, the International Seminar “Quality without Borders: Internationalization and Cross-Border Quality Assurance in Higher Education” was held in Uzhhorod, organized by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA) in Higher Education and the Uzhhorod National University with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary.
Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University was represented at the event by a delegation of scientific and pedagogical staff:
- Robert Bacho, Doctor of Science in Economics, Professor, Head at the Department of Accounting and Auditing;
- Nina Poyda-Nosyk, Doctor of Science in Economics, Professor, Professor at the Department of Accounting and Auditing;
- Viktoriia Makarovych, Doctor of Science in Economics, Associate Professor, Professor at the Department of Accounting and Auditing;
- Sofiya Chovriy, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, Primary, Pre-School Education and Management of Educational Institution.
The key focus of the event was the direct participation of the leadership of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) ‒ ENQA President and the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS) Director General Daniela Cristina Ghitulica, as well as ENQA Board Member and Director General of the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (MAB) Péter Levente Lakatos. Foreign delegates highly appreciated the level of professionalism of the National Agency, its systematic activities and the effectiveness of international partnership.
The event brought together representatives of state authorities, diplomatic circles, heads of leading European accreditation agencies and the academic community for a professional discussion of vectors for developing cross-border cooperation.
During the discussions, special attention was paid to the impact of internationalization on the quality of the educational process, as well as the analysis of current trends, challenges and prospects of higher education in a global context. The seminar showed that the expansion of international relations and cross-border cooperation are effective factors of modern educational transformation. The consolidation of the efforts of the National Agency, European partners and the academic community creates a stable basis for the full integration of Ukrainian higher education institutions into the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
