Dr. Veronika Fenyves, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Debrecen, delivered lectures at our university within the framework of the Makovecz Teaching Scholarship Programme

In May 2026, Dr. Veronika Fenyves, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Debrecen, delivered a series of lectures for students enrolled in the study programmes of the Department of Accounting and Auditing at the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University. The lectures were attended by Bachelor’s and Master’s students of the 071/D1 “Accounting and Taxation” study programme, as well as students of the 072/D2 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Exchange” programme.

The department has maintained an active professional relationship with the Dean for more than ten years. As a result of this cooperation, not only educational collaborations but also numerous conferences, student mobility programmes (Erasmus+ and Makovecz), and research projects have been successfully implemented both in the past and in the present.

The May teaching scholarship programme therefore provided an opportunity not only for carrying out educational activities, but also for discussing professional initiatives and clarifying further areas of cooperation between the two universities.

The primary aim of the lectures was to broaden the professional perspective of students studying in the business-related programmes of the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University. Beyond gaining knowledge about the Ukrainian accounting and financial system, students also had the opportunity to become familiar with Hungarian accounting regulations, as well as the similarities and differences between the regulatory frameworks of the two countries. This additionally contributes to providing Bachelor’s students with the necessary foundational knowledge required for participation in the dual degree programme carried out in cooperation with the University of Debrecen.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Veronika Fenyves for further strengthening the professional relationship between our universities and for contributing to the expansion of students’ accounting knowledge.
