Since 2016, the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University has maintained cooperation with the ECL Examination Centre of the Foreign Language Centre at the University of Pécs, which operates as an international examination venue. Thanks to this agreement, the university offers the opportunity to obtain internationally recognized language certificates.
The ECL Examination Centre in Berehove has grown increasingly popular among candidates year by year, as evidenced by statistical data from 2016 to 2026. To date, a total of 377 candidates have taken language examinations, of whom 320 have successfully obtained certificates attesting to their language proficiency.

This year, the first examination session took place on February 6–7, 2026, with the participation of 18 candidates, 17 of whom sat for a complex exam, while one candidate took a written partial exam (English B2 level).

The deadline for exam registration was January 6, 2026. The results were made available to all candidates on the ECL online platform on March 4, 2026. Based on these results, 15 candidates achieved the proficiency level required for a language certificate: 3 candidates successfully completed the English C1 complex exam, while 12 candidates earned their English B2 certificates (8 complex exams, 3 successful oral partial exams, and 1 successful written partial exam).
The certificates were presented on March 23, 2026, in the Central Reading Room of the Apáczai Csere János Library at the University of Rakoczi, as part of the Rakoczi Days event series.
The next examination session will take place on June 12–13, 2026, with the registration deadline set for May 14.
