The speakers are investigating the research topic of the Department of Accounting and Auditing regarding the structural transformation of the economy of Transcarpathia from the perspectives of entrepreneurship, local governance, and development strategy planning.

On October 29, Dr. Robert Bacho, DSc, Professor of the Department of Accounting and Auditing, delivered a lecture on the topic “Assessment of the Financial Self-sufficiency of Territorial Communities in Transcarpathia”. In his presentation, based on generally accepted methodologies, he demonstrated which financial, economic, and other indicators can be used to determine the viability of local communities. He also shared methods for identifying weak links that need to be developed in the near future to ensure the sustainable development of local communities.

On October 30, Senior Lecturer Gabor Pataki, Deputy Head of the Department Gabriella Loskorikh, and Vice President of the Association of Young Hungarian Entrepreneurs of Transcarpathia Andrea Husar held a joint lecture on research methodology for analyzing the entrepreneurial environment. In the first part of the lecture, the speakers presented statistical data on business entities in Transcarpathia, based on entrepreneurial statistics before and during the war, as well as trends in business relocation. In the second part of the lecture, they presented methodological and practical techniques, as well as data collection possibilities necessary for conducting economic analysis when planning and developing the strategies for local communities’ development.

We hope that the professional and research knowledge gained during the training will assist participants in developing successful development strategies for local communities and will foster the growth of their economic thinking and decision-making skills.
