The department is located on the 1st floor of the university’s main building at Kossuth square 6, in the Krisztinaváros hall.

The Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, Primary, Pre-School Education and Management of Educational Institutions of the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian University was established in 1998. The department’s general task is to establish a fundamental literacy in pedagogy and psychology, to foster the dedication essential for the teaching profession, to shape pedagogical competencies, and to provide the professional and methodological foundation for the knowledge of primary and preschool teacher candidates. The department is the graduating department for the Primary School Education (BA, MA) and Preschool Education (BA) majors, and it also provides instruction in pedagogy and psychology subjects for all teacher training programs at the university.

The department is also responsible for coordinating the off-campus Social Pedagogy training, Music Education teacher training, Physical Education teacher training, and the Mental Health Support Specialist postgraduate specialist training, all based in Hungary.

  • Application of projective drawing test techniques in pedagogical psychology practice.
  • Professional preparation of future preschool teachers to foster the social learning experiences of preschool-aged children.
  • The role and significance of traditional children’s folk games in preschool and school activities.
