The first issue of Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis, Philologica for 2026 has been published

The first issue of the Department of Philology’s scholarly journal for this year was published on January 30, 2026. The issue contains nine research articles and four reviews.

The linguistics-focused studies address topics such as opportunities for linguistic accessibility for Ukrainian refugees in Hungary, intertextual elements in Ukrainian film titles, indicators of multilingualism in Vilmos Kovács’s novel “Holnap is élünk”, and the pragmatic adaptation of culturally bound proper names in English–Ukrainian literary translation.

The issue also includes studies in language pedagogy, which explore methodological approaches to teaching English as a foreign language.

The authors of the literary articles examine the historical background of literary studies, the motif of escapism in Ukrainian short prose, and the use of texts reflecting Christian spirituality in literature classes.

In the Reviews section, scientific reviews written by two students of the Department of Philology are once again featured alongside contributions by faculty members of the department. The reviewed volumes include publications in sociolinguistics, educational methodology, and literary studies.

This issue, like the previous ones, is available in open access form on the journal’s website:
