The Editorial Board of Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis. Economics Enhances Its Qualifications in Line with the Requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and International Standards

From September 4 to October 2, 2025, representatives of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis. Economics – Dr. Nina Poyda-Nosyk, Professor, Doctor of Economics, and Dr. Viktoria Makarovych, Associate Professor, Doctor of Economics – participated in the international professional development course “The Editorial Board in Action: How to Organize the Work of a Journal’s Editorial Board in Accordance with the New Requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science.”

The event, organized by the Scientific Center for Innovative Research (Estonia) under the leadership of Doctor Economic Sciences, Professor Iryna Migus, was aimed at enhancing the professional competence of editorial board members of scientific journals and ensuring compliance of editorial practices with international standards.

During the course, participants explored new approaches to forming editorial boards, including criteria for selecting Ukrainian and foreign members, requirements for their academic activity, and proper documentation of their professional profiles in ORCID, Scopus, and Web of Science. Special attention was devoted to defining the roles and responsibilities of the editor-in-chief, managing editor, and international members; establishing effective communication among the editorial office, authors, and reviewers; and implementing modern practices of editorial management aligned with international standards.

A separate module focused on issues of academic integrity, plagiarism prevention, ethical policies, and peer review standards. Participation in this program deepened the participants’ understanding of current editorial requirements, improved editorial management practices, and strengthened mechanisms for documentation and ethical interaction within the scientific community.

The knowledge and tools gained will contribute to more efficient organization of the editorial board’s work, greater transparency of peer-review procedures, and an overall enhancement of the international standing of Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis. Economics.

The Editorial Board extends its sincere gratitude to Professor Iryna Migus and, through her, to the Scientific Center for Innovative Research for their professionalism, valuable experience, and inspiration for further development. The knowledge acquired will serve as a solid foundation for improving editorial practices, upholding academic integrity, and implementing best international standards in scientific reviewing, publication ethics, and quality management of academic journals. This will ensure transparency of editorial processes, strengthen trust in publications, and promote the integration of Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis. Economics into the global scientific community.
