Christmas celebration at the University of Rakoczi
For many years now, the English Language and Literature Branch of the Philology Department has organized the university’s official Christmas programme. This year, the performance by English major students took place on December 18, following enthusiastic preparations over the preceding days. Students from different year groups actively took part in the programme.
The event opened with the English folk dance Upon a Summer Day.
This was followed by traditional Ukrainian Christmas carols performed by Valeria Kovalyuk, a second-year master’s student.
Next, first-year students presented a selection of Christmas songs.
The second-year students annually make a video that is linked to student life and the theme of Christmas. This year’s short video, titled Home Alone, was also screened for the audience.
The programme then continued with the English folk dance Newcastle.
After that, third-year students performed a Christmas-themed presentation entitled The Grinch.
The Christmas celebration concluded with a festive medley of Christmas songs performed by Boglárka Ferku, Boglárka Grica, Dávid Mándy, Szilveszter Ferku, and László Szilágyi.
