Through various activities, games, and quizzes, newly admitted students can get to know their peers and instructors better. Participants also have the opportunity to learn about the work carried out in the József Szikura Botanical Garden and to visit the plant collections and the Country House.
Day of ScienceconferenceNovemberDepartment of Biology and Chemistry, Fodor Istán Research CentreThe Hungarian Academy of Sciences has commemorated the Day of Hungarian Science since 1997, and it has been officially celebrated since 2003, on November 3. On this day in 1825, István Széchenyi offered one year’s income from his estates to establish the Hungarian Learned Society, laying the foundation of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Our department organizes this event annually around this date to promote a science-centered value system and recognize the activities that contribute to the cultivation and advancement of science.
Advent Floral Arrangement Professional Dayprofessional dayNovember-DecemberDepartment of Biology and ChemistryThis event has been held for several years to promote floristry and is always a great success. Advent wreaths, door wreaths, and table decorations are made. The proceeds from the sale of the finished products are used for charitable purposes.
